Scotty's 7 types of Business Illustration

Scotty’s Cartoons Business Illustration Service covers a wide range of illustrations that can help boost your business. These fall into 7 main categories:

  1. · CHARACTER DESIGN

  2. · EVENT MAPS

  3. · EVENT ILLUSTRATIONS & PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL

  4. · BUSINESS CHRISTMAS CARD DESIGN

  5. · A BUSINESS MESSAGE IN CARTOON FORMAT

  6. · LOGO DESIGN

  7. · MISCELLANEOUS

1. CHARACTER DESIGN:

A brand character can really help to connect potential clients to your business. It puts an approachable image to your business name and can be designed to give whatever impression you require, including being based on a real life dog. Here are some character designs that I’ve drawn as previous commissions:

2. EVENT MAPS

I have drawn several maps for Woofstock festival for dogs, showing the layout of the festival in a fun and appealing way. The organisers of Woofstock sent me the official plans and layout, with written in areas for the various parts of the festival. Then I redrew it as a complete image.

3. EVENT ILLUSTRATIONS AND PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL

An important part of an upcoming event is always getting the message out to people of what, where and when the event is happening. In order to make it as appealing as possible to potential ticket buyers, organisers often opt for professional cartoon images, which is where I come in.

4. BUSINESS CHRISTMAS CARD DESIGN

Sending a Christmas card as a branded design to all of the clients and customers that have supported you over the year, is a popular choice. It thanks your clients whilst at the same time gently reminds them of your business for the year ahead.

5. A BUSINESS MESSAGE IN CARTOON FORMAT

When a business comes to me wanting to get a message across to potential and existing clients, we discuss the message and the kind of tone that the business wishes to portray to their clients.

In many cases, a two frame cartoon is often the best way of doing this, as it can give a helpful impact in the timing that tends to stay with the reader. On other occasions, for example if it's for a list of rules for an upcoming event, individual cartoons with a fun element will really help to get the message across without appearing stuffy and making the event too serious.

6. LOGO DESIGN

Logo design is another category entirely and you can read more about my logo design service here: LOGO DESIGN SERVICE

7. MISCELLANEOUS

There are other cartoon illustrations for businesses that I do, that don’t fall into any of the above categories. I’m always open to drawing specific commissions, and some of the others that I’ve drawn include: a large batch of reading cards for schools, brand illustrations, illustrations for an anagrams leaflet, illustrations for websites 'About Us' section, and more.
