Exciting times ahead!

Quite a bit has changed here at Scotty’s Cartoons this month, so I thought it may be a good idea to discuss the changes here so that everyone knows what to expect. I decided to take a few weeks out of commission time to really reassess what I would like from my business... and I'm so glad I did..!

Scotty’s Cartoons was founded about 14 years ago, and in that time I’ve added new services along the way. The downside of this, is that it reached a point where I felt like it had watered down my special services, and I realised that something wasn’t feeling right.

It's been just over a week since I returned, and the passion for my business is lighting me up again, so I know it’s been the right decision. So, onto the changes...

What is staying?

PET PORTRAITS (including…)

BOOK ILLUSTRATION

Sometimes in business you need to stop and remind yourself where your passion lays. For me, that was an easy question. My pet portraits, are completely unique, and different from any other pet portraits out there. I designed the pet personality forms myself, and the focus is on your dog’s character. I absolutely LOVE doing these, and have decided to bring them to the forefront of my business again.

Similarly, I get excited about book illustration, and love helping bring authors characters to life, so that is definitely staying too.

I’ve lovingly hung up the hats for these services to make room for the things that truly light me up. I’ve loved doing them over the years, but they feel less “me” than the services that I’m bringing to the forefront.

The sublimation items were a great experience learning how to make the products and a long trial and error period before getting the products perfect. I’m glad that I did them, but they take too much time away from actually drawing, so reluctantly they have to be put aside too.

Don’t worry, they’re all still available! They’re just no longer on my website at the forefront of my business, so please just let me know if you’d like any of those services, as I’d still love to help.

Sometimes if something doesn’t feel right, taking a step back from it is the best thing to do, and that’s certainly the case here. My passion has been reignited and I’m loving it all again. I couldn’t do any of this without the lovely people following, sharing, subscribing, and of course commissioning my work. Thank you so much. Onwards and Upwards!
