The Best Ways To Preserve Your Cartoon

You’ve commissioned a cartoon, and you’ve received it, so how do you ensure that it stays as perfect as it is now?

Whether you just bought a digital pack, or a pack with your cartoon printed onto various materials, below are some tips to help keep your cartoon in tip top condition..!

DIGITAL

· Back up your high resolution digital copy onto a disc, memory stick or external hard drive, so that if anything happens to your main copy, you have a back up.

PRINT

· If you’re framing your print, make sure that your frame has UV protective glass or acrylic to protect it from sunlight damage and prevent fading.

· If you’re storing your print, store in an acid-free album using photo corners, or in an acid-free sleeve or storage box. (The tissue paper that I wrap and send your print in is acid-free and perfect to keep wrapped around your print if you are storing.)

· Keep in a cool, dry room with low humidity.

CRYSTAL & GLASS (Display frame, crystal block)

· Dust with a soft, lint-free cloth.

· Keep in a stable temperature environment, with low humidity.

· Consider keeping in a display case.

MDF (Jigsaw)

· Handle with clean, dry hands.

· Dust with a soft, dry cloth.

· Keep away from direct contact with water or cleaning solutions.

· Assemble your jigsaw on a clean, dry, smooth table top or surface.

· Store in a cool, dry environment with low humidity.

METAL (fridge magnets, keyrings, dog treat tins, angel keepsake)

· Avoid contact with moisture.

· Dust with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth

SLATE (slate display)

· Clean with a soft, dry cloth

· For stubborn dirt or marks, mix a small amount of water with a little mild soap. Dampen the cloth and gently wipe to remove marks. Dry immediately with a separate soft, dry cloth.

· Keep away from direct sunlight to avoid fading.

· Keep safe from knocks, as slate is brittle and can break/chip easily. Consider keeping in a display case.
